Abstract The occurrence of malignant tumors is closely related to key cancer-related genes in cellproliferation, apoptosis or other biological processes. Chromodomain helicase / ATPase DNA binding protein1-like gene (CHD1L) is a newly discovered carcinogenic gene located in CHR1Q21. CHD1L is expressedin many normal tissues of human beings. CHD1L is highly expressed in various human malignant tumortissues, including liver cancer, colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, ovarian cancer, and glioma. CHD1L, asa promotional factor in the development of malignant tumors, affects biological processes such as theproliferation, migration, invasion, apoptosis, and autophagy of tumor cells, and its high expression isclosely related to the adverse prognosis of malignant tumors. CHD1L also plays an important role intranscriptional regulation, maintenance of chromosomal integrity, and DNA repair. This article reviews therole of CHD1L in malignant tumors and the research progress of the mechanism, in order to provide areference for CHD1L to become a new target for potential markers and clinical treatment of malignanttumors.
